A little slice of heaven

Without a doubt the highlight of our mad dash across the country was our stay at Heritage Hill. We found scary looking ducks who eat ticks and mosquitoes. Polliwog Bay was filled with numerous polliwogs of various sizes. Gigantic Janessa held their lives in her tiny hands as she rained down boulders on the Bay letting fate determine who would survive and who would not live to see tomorrow.

We went to "Heritage Days" which was reminiscent of a pioneer celebration with a Oaky twist. Heather is going to swap out the bottoms of all her chairs for the durable weaved creations pictured above. Kris and Janessa found pretty mules and Joseph demonstrated his skill at barrel racing.

We found kids who know what real work is, who don't like movies and who laughed when I told them my kids thought there was nothing to do and complained of being bored.

We found joy and pleasure in things pure and simple.

We found out that while some of us come from England or Germany or Scotland, Benji comes from West Plains, and he is 100% "a country boy." We found that critters be they little or big are welcome here. We found lots of love and lots of happiness. We found a piece of heaven.
